Six months ago, we launched the Woven Agenda Women’s Circle, a safe, nurturing space for women who have survived domestic and gender-based violence. What began as a vision for collective healing has since grown into a powerful movement of resilience, creativity, and economic transformation.

In those early sessions, we gathered in circles, listened, and mapped the gifts within the group. One truth quickly emerged: many of these women are master basket weavers, carrying deep, ancestral knowledge passed down through generations. Yet for years, their work was overlooked, undervalued, underpaid, and often exploited.

Today, that is changing.

Through the Circle, we have combined healing-centered care with financial literacy, cooperative organizing, and business development. The women are no longer creating for survival alone, they are creating with agency, building a collective enterprise that honors their labor and lifts their dignity.

Each week, they produce over 25 intricately woven baskets, sold both locally and online. But these are more than beautiful, handcrafted goods. Each one carries a story of healing, strength, and reclaimed identity. These baskets are woven with memory, survival, and the kind of quiet power that builds new worlds.

And now, we are taking it further.

Woven Agenda is working to scale this model into a generational mentorship program, where older women, guardians of indigenous craft, will teach younger women the cultural, artistic, and healing practices that have sustained communities for centuries. This isn’t just about economic empowerment. It’s about preserving heritage, honoring wisdom, and rooting recovery in cultural pride.

In doing so, we are creating a living archive of indigenous knowledge, a space where craft becomes ceremony, and where each lesson passed down becomes an act of resistance against erasure.

The response from local and global allies has been overwhelming. Your belief in this work fuels more than a business, it fuels a movement. One basket at a time, we are weaving a new vision of economic justice, cultural resilience, and intergenerational healing.

We are not just weaving baskets.
We are weaving freedom.
We are weaving memory.
We are weaving a future where no woman is left behind.
